These 100% cotton reusable non surgical face masks are a great option for those who are immunocompromised as well as those working in hospitals, EMS, and other related fields looking for additional protection while there is a mask shortage.

CDC is now advising the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others. These masks are to be used as a voluntary public health measure and JMC HANDMADE LLC does not guarantee results in the use of these masks. These masks are not designed to prevent COVID-19.

Available in 2 layers cotton fabric. (best when using in addition to a surgical mask and not directly on the face) or outer cotton and inside (to your face) cotton flannel.

Available in  2 child or adult sizes. Adult  one size fits most and adult large which has longer elastic for larger heads . Custom sizing available if needed.

Adult measures approximately 9 inches long and 6 inches wide when fully expanded.

Child small measures approximately 7 inches long and 4.5 inches wide when fully expanded. Best for ages 3-8.

Child large measures approximately 7 inches long and 4.5 inches wide when fully expanded and has longer elastic for larger heads. Best for ages 9-12.

 Please remember these masks are:

  • Follow CDC guidelines for use of masks

Options for Cleaning A Used Mask:

  1. Hand wash using very hot water and ordinary dish washing soap (not lotion/moisturizing soaps). Heat the water, pour into a bucket with soap and immerse the face mask(s). If heavily soiled, add an oxygen cleaner (for example, Oxyclean) according to the package instructions.  Agitate, soak.  Rinse very well in plenty of water. Squeeze well. Let air dry.

  2. Machine wash, hot water, using laundry soap that DOES NOT contain fabric softeners; a powdered detergent is preferred.  If in any doubt, choose a powder detergent. Add an extra rinse cycle as needed.  Air dry or machine dry on a warm cycle.  If machine drying, consider using a mesh bag to prevent damage to elastics or ties.

  3. Other sanitizers could be used with soap/detergent, when washing by either hand or machine.  These are household bleach, liquid laundry sanitizers (for example, Pine Sol), quaternary ammonium salts, such as found in many over-the-counter cleaners (check the label).  Follow the label directions!

Made with love in a pet and smoke free home.

Please remember to wash your hands, don’t touch your face, practice social distancing, and BE SAFE!

These are not to be used as medical devices. Nor are these masks or any of JMC Handmade products designed or intended to mitigate, prevent, treat, diagnose or cure any disease or health condition.

These masks are best used over a CDC rated surgical disposable mask and do not guarantee any full protection from contaminates. Wear at your own risk.

Masks are better at protecting others from the person WEARING the mask to spread germs rather than protecting from those around you NOT wearing a mask. If you feel ill, wear a mask in public to protect others!

JMC Handmade LLC is not liable for any illness you may or may not obtain while wearing this mask.

Due to the nature of this product, they are non returnable/refundable.

Per CDC website:

Facemasks that are not regulated by FDA, such as some procedure masks, which are typically used for isolation purposes, may not provide protection against splashes and sprays.

In settings where facemasks are not available, HCP might use homemade masks (e.g., bandana, scarf) for care of patients with COVID-19 as a last resort. However, homemade masks are not considered PPE, since their capability to protect HCP is unknown. Caution should be exercised when considering this option. Homemade masks should ideally be used in combination with a face shield that covers the entire front (that extends to the chin or below) and sides of the face.

Further from CDC as of 4/3/2020:

CDC continues to study the spread and effects of the novel coronavirus across the United States.  We now know from recent studies that a significant portion of individuals with coronavirus lack symptoms (“asymptomatic”) and that even those who eventually develop symptoms (“pre-symptomatic”) can transmit the virus to others before showing symptoms.  This means that the virus can spread between people interacting in close proximity—for example, speaking, coughing, or sneezing—even if those people are not exhibiting symptoms.  In light of this new evidence, CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies) especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.

It is critical to emphasize that maintaining 6-feet social distancing remains important to slowing the spread of the virus.  CDC is additionally advising the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others.  Cloth face coverings fashioned from household items or made at home from common materials at low cost can be used as an additional, voluntary public health measure.

The cloth face coverings recommended are not surgical masks or N-95 respirators.  Those are critical supplies that must continue to be reserved for healthcare workers and other medical first responders, as recommended by current CDC guidance.
